Default Accelerator sticking

I Know this is a F150 forum but I was hoping y'all could help me help a friend. My friend has an 07 escape and her accelerator sticks sometimes does anyone know what's wrong and how to fix it?

I have an 02 and there was an issue with them sticking on the V6 models, if your a 4 cly that is different.

If you have had any work done where the upper intake was removed then check the installation of metal bracket that holds the throttle cable down.

You need to remove the plastic cover and you will see the cable comes from the right through the bracket, and curves back to the right (while standing in front of the vehicle).

It is that metal hold down that causes the problem if it is installed incorrectly.

I changed my spark plugs and didn't position that correctly and my throttle was sticking, positioned it correctly and no more issue.
