Default Acceleration Problems please help

I have a 2008 f150 Xl 4.2L I know that the acceleration and speed are supposed to go down, but mine is rediculously bad. It takes me forever to get up to speed. I was wondering if changing the gear ratio would work? If not what suggestions do you guys have. Thanks

A 4.2 with a lift? What size tires? Ouch!

besides power adders like a supercharger, gears will be the most effective way to get some of your acceleration back.

any drive train shop can do gears. also call around to local mechanics and ask if they do gear swaps.
