Ac problems
Switch it back if you want A/C for now, they're different as far as how AC operation is concerned.
Your XLT presumably has a manual climate control, the Lariat donor truck had an auto climate control system. On a manual system, the AC clutch request signal is hardwired to the cluster which serves as the gateway for forwarding that request to the PCM via the CAN bus as a network message. On an auto system, the request is a network message sent via the UBP bus to the cluster which then forwards the message to the PCM via the CAN bus.
Can the Lariat cluster be re-programmed to work in a manual AC system? Dunno, the service manual doesn't say specifically. It does list as one of the programmable parameters to be "automatic temperature control type" to be taken care of if the IC is replaced.
You'll either have to figure it out (if it can be reprogrammed) or hope to find someone with the exact experience needed to provide the correct answer. techrep may have already done so (hopefully).
