I have an 07 f150 fx4 super crew cab when I turn air to Max AC to on or off or if I do the same with the defrost it maces a creaking popping noise. Does anyone know what this is and if so how to correct?

 

Is the noise coming from the inner dash area? If so, it may be the blend door. Common for these to fail, usually followed by warm air blowing out the vents when the AC is selected.

If it's coming from the engine area, then perhaps your AC compressors clutch is the culprit.

When describing a noise problem, it's best to provide an area where the noise is coming from.
