AC issue
Last time I recharged was a few years back and the compressor was not engaging. I removed a shim and away we went! I get a cold start and lose it as the truck warms up.
I just had it recharged professionally and no change. Compressor is engaging/cycling and it past the leak test.
My first thought was the temp control door/baffle since I can't even use my vents for outside air (heat blowing through). Temp control door/baffle seems to be running well at least grunting as it moves.
I seem to remember there's another door/baffle to switch from heat to AC modes.. Can't recall where..
Thoughts?

Okay.. Ran Key on/engine off with Forscan and no faults. Correct me if you know better, but... I do believe that tested all electric responses to the compressor (in my vehicle, no fan or it would have as well). Being it also passed a leak test this kinda leaves a few more items.
Off to my mechanic cousin and some of his tools to check pressure with quality tools. I leave and AC is working on MAX setting and fan at 2. I made a stop by the dump while out, why no? AC ran good, this is about 20 minutes away. As I plot the course for my cousins place, I shot the fan up to setting 4, full fan! CLUNK or thud depending on your area of the country.. A damper was blown closed and to confirm.. the air got hot! I may just have it.
Cuz and I ran through a few things I had already done and confirmed several inspections. My AC is cooling and circulating! Compressor cycles, htgh side is very hot and cold side is very cold, I have flow. Forscan showed me fuses and wires are doing their thing and happy. That sound was the blender door! Hell, I replaced that 2-3 years back..
I've researched around and asked a few, but I don't believe there is a second baffle to contend with. I do believe in 2004 we only have to deal with the blender door. Do not buy a cheapie as I did.. My cousin was telling me to go to our local Ford Graveyard and pull one. I may just do that..
My experience and solution. It doesn't always come this easily!!
