Default ABS rear sensor

So my ABS light came on last week. I want to the auto parts store and the codes said rear center ABS sensor. I purchased and replaced, but the light stays on. I have checked the wires and take my truck back to auto store to clear codes. The light goes off and the first time i brake it shudders and the light comes right back on. After that the truck drives and stops fine but I cant get that light off. Any ideas?? It driving me nuts!!!

How did you check the wires? Did you check them all the way to the PCM? Have you had a scanner on it and see if the sensor is actually working? Had anyone in the rear end that could have chipped or damaged the tone ring? Is it a hard code, meaning it comes back as soon as you turn on the truck, or do you have to drive a few miles before it resets?

What is the exact code? Open, shorted, inconsistent?

I physically inspected the wires

yes all the way to the pcm

put a new sensor on it

nobody was in the rear end

light comes back on after I brake and the brakes pulsate like the ABS activates

I hooked a voltmeter up to the sensor and spun the rear wheels. I couldnt get a reading on any setting. Could I have gotten a bad new sensor? Does anyone know what ohms I should be able to read? Can I test it when its out of the truck? Is there any way to test the Module to see if that is bad?
