Default ABS Module Question

I recently replaced the ABS module on my '07 F150 2 wheel drive 5.4L . I bought the unit used off of E-Bay and I knew I was rolling the dice when I ordered it but the local dealership wanted $1400.00 to install a new unit. The module came in, I installed it and took it to the dealership to have it programmed. Surprise! They said it wouldn't take the programming because the unit I installed was for a truck with traction control and my truck doesn't have that option. I've looked everywhere online for a unit that will work with traction control and I don't see any mention anywhere about that option for the module. Am I being scammed or do they actually have a module that is different for traction controlled trucks?

Why not just get your module repaired ? that's what most do on here. send it to module pros in cali. Fedx both ways it only takes a week or so. you can drive without it. then there is no need to get anything re-programmed. I believe that any truck that has T/C would indeed need that option in the ABS module.

I destroyed the original abs module when I was taking it off. The bolts were corroded so badly that I had to cut them off and after doing that , when I pulled the unit away from the pump 4 of the solenoids stuck to the pump. I know, I'm an idiot

Get another one from a junkyard that matches your truck exactly
