I just had my light come on today during a long drive. Went out after stopping for gas, but came on about 30 mins later. After researching it looks like you either need the correct code reader like mentioned before or you can test with a multi meter. The video i watched showed the guy disconnecting the sensor from the harness going into the ecu. The sensor apparently has 2 wires in the plug and he tested them for resistance using a multi meter. If there is 0 or little resistance when rotating the wheel, the sensor is bad. If there is resistance (his was 535 i believe) then the sensor is ok. Like i said, this just happened to me and I haven't even touched the truck. Just sharing my Youtube research results!
