6x8 - 5x7 difference? help

6x8 - 5x7 difference? help

i was shopping around for new speakers for my truck and i was wondering if 5x7's would fit? it says "fits most 6x8 locations but just wanted to be sure before purchasing..

I'm pretty sure the bolt pattern is the same for 5x7 or 6x8... They just make the 5x7 for depth clearance I think.

I think most 6x8 speakers are actually exactlyt he same speaker surface area as 5x7's, a lot of manufacturers make one speaker that can fit in both size locations.
