Default 6 inch on 37s?

Alright, so i have a 2inch leveling kit on my 04 4x4 XLT SuperCrew and its on 33s. Tires are worn and im ready to lift er' up. So i got about 5 grand to spend so 9inches are outta my range and i honestly just love the look of the 6inch. So heres the deal, the guy at 4 wheel parts says you "can" trim for 37s under a 6inch but he wouldnt suggest it because you end up trimming metal, but if i leave the leveling kits its more like 8inches and i know you can fit 37s under an 8inch.
My question is, would yall settle for 35s (disregard the price difference) or trim a bit for 37s?

Stay with 35s or you definitely have to rehearsal with 37s. That will run over $1000 there. Stay with 6" and 35s.

i had a friend that did 37's on a 6 inch...he said he needed to trim but i can't remember if he said he trimmed metal...his big issue was that he blew 2 rear ends because he never regeared it...then he flipped the truck. i have seen a 6 inch lift with a leveling kit running 38's but the guy said he wished he never went over 35's for his daily driver. i'd suggest the 6 inch and maybe a body lift instead of the leveling kit. i've heard more bad than good about combining lift kits and leveling kits. i think the body lift gives you clearance for bigger tires than the leveling kit.

I'm running a 6" suspension and 3" body on 37s. Regearing is a must

All depends on offset of the rims if you have to trim much or not i have seen an 04 with just a six inch rough country that cleared 37's with minor trimming to the front valance. My truck on the other hand has the same lift and will not clear 37's due to the offset on the rims.
