That's pretty interesting, what would your thoughts be on running a 0w40 oil here in Calgary over the summer?

Also on a side note, after recently switching to 5w30, I have zero idea how people are still running the 5w20 oil... seriously night and day

Default 10-30

Here in AZ I have been running Mobil 1 10-30 for 50 thousand miles. Buy it at Costco when its on sale for 27 bucks a case and change oil every 4-5 grand. I get 19 to the gallon on the highway and it burns no oil and since upgrading to the new VCT have nearly no tick anymore. It has over 200 grand on the clock now. Will be doing a complete timing chain /phaser/adjuster /gear change this next winter. I am very happy with the 5.4. I am running champions in it and have been for the last 30 grand and will replace them with Motorcraft plugs and some new COPs this summer before I head out again. 10-30 seems to work well here in az with no problems.

Bought mine on Ebay through a ford Dealer if you look at the description they will plainly say the latest upgrade or latest product. The dealer is the way to go but buying them from a dealer on ebay saved me half from what the local dealer wanted.

I found a dealer on eBay that I used before for my iwe parts. They have 2 different styles it says they are both the newest ones. They are diffrent sizes apparently 04-06 takes one then 07-08 takes diffrent vct Is this correct?

No they should all be the same.. The only difference would be the seals on 07 up.. You can't remove the seals on 07+, so you have to pull the valve cover..

Has anyone used Motorcraft 5w-30 by chance? It seems like a decent price. It's a synthetic blend too. I might try it on my next oil change.

Yeah I use motorcraft 5w30 only bad part is it does not come in 5 quart jug so you have to grab 7 individual quarts lol
