5.4lt WOT issue
The truck runs fine but when you put the pedal to the floor it has no power and starts backfiring through the intake and sputtering, it does to throw any codes. Lots of power at 3/4 throttle, no issues then. Any ideas?
I pu t a new k&n air filter on about 3 months ago and the truck has 75000 kms on it should i replace the fuel filter about 6 months ago it was doing something similer but it was not backfireing and i had a check engine light and that ended up being a bad coil plugs have not been changed yet but i was hoping i could put that off for a few more months
If its not tossing codes clean the TB, take the intake off and its just a couple bolts that hold it on, clean it with TB cleaner and wipe it down and reinstall it. Unhook the neg. on your battery while your doing it to clear anything that may be in there
i will have to try that i restared the computer tonight but the problem is still there just find it wierd that i have the same problem as a lot of people but they get a code and i don't, and i can tell it is missing.only does it between 4000 and 5000 rpms

Clean your MAFS (mass air flow sensor), the k&n filter will foul that sensor with oil sometimes causing it to read the incoming air incorrectly and cause it to adjust the fuel curve wrong. Anytime you re-oil the filter....about a week later, its always good to clean the MAFS then too.
Should also clean throttle body and unplug battery afterwords. so the computer can relearn.
