Default 5.4lt WOT issue

The truck runs fine but when you put the pedal to the floor it has no power and starts backfiring through the intake and sputtering, it does to throw any codes. Lots of power at 3/4 throttle, no issues then. Any ideas?

If its not tossing codes clean the TB, take the intake off and its just a couple bolts that hold it on, clean it with TB cleaner and wipe it down and reinstall it. Unhook the neg. on your battery while your doing it to clear anything that may be in there

Clean your MAFS (mass air flow sensor), the k&n filter will foul that sensor with oil sometimes causing it to read the incoming air incorrectly and cause it to adjust the fuel curve wrong. Anytime you re-oil the filter....about a week later, its always good to clean the MAFS then too.

Should also clean throttle body and unplug battery afterwords. so the computer can relearn.
