relax jt I just mis-read your post. Don't do drugs although my eyes can get a little tired after starring at a computer screen all day (I have a Masters in Computer Science). Was I offensive to you? I thought that I added something to the post. You know, the extra trip to the parts store...BTW, perhaps, according to Ford, the service life of 6-7 years for the sensor was a good enough reason? A used vehicle serviced in this way is the type I like to buy. But anyway, good question.

I decided to change my fronts last week after noticing a "lazy" response time from my old front 02's..

This time I managed to get my hand up to the plug on the passenger side, I had it in and out in about 10 minutes.. I just put my hand straight up next to the tranny, held in the clip and pulled..

To reinstall I plugged the sensor in first, wound it backwards a bit, then cranked it into the bung.. I noticed it cleaned up my AFR readings by "tightening" up the range in which it was reading. I checked this on my wideband 02 I added on my driverside.

special, what you pay for the OEM part? Honestly, I replaced mine with Bosch, but I'm "trending" on going with nothing but OEM parts lately. In one of my other posts I post that I replace my MAF (correct diagnosis) with a South Korean replacement and it was just junk. Nothing against South Korea, but it was giving some crazy readings.......and the computer regulating the timing and whatnot needs to have the proper input....Go OEM (except brake rotors and pads LOL).

I got the same P0053 code this morning Bank1/sensor1. Do I need to replace multiple sensors or can I just replace the faulty one?

Hi.

Always recommend replacing in pairs for the fronts.

Recommend Motorcraft only. Here's why:

I spent around $50 each for factory 02's from rock auto.. I agree with skipping the 1 size fits all crap sensors offered.. Your absolutely right, stick with the factory spec equipment when it comes down to critical engine related repairs. The aftermarket 02 sensors are known to give jumpy and sluggish readings, which directly affect how your ECM functions.
