I talked to ford yesterday about the plug issue on the new vehicles. They said the issue has not been corrected and the plugs will still get stuck, Looks to me like FORD could care less.

Yes the plugs will still stick do to the length of the plugs and how far they go into the heads. The plugs build up deposits over time and from what I was told they can stick and be difficult to remove. Ford has IMO good heads but do need to address the plug legnth issue. Mabye Roush or Yates can lend a hand.

Default Official confirmation?

Supposedly the new heads are installed on engines manufactured after 10-7-07. If this is true I would reconsider buying the 5.4. Has anyone been able to confirm the accuracy of the story? Hopefully it is not an urban myth or wishful thinking .

Well it looks like the new TSB for plug removal is the closest official confirmation that Ford made changes to correct the plug problem. The new TSB applies to 5.4s built prior to 10-9-07. It is unclear whether they changed the head design, plug design or both. Anyway, it appears that something did indeed change in October 07! Thanks to Peterman at Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forum for posting the link.

Thanks for turning me on to these Brisk plugs, interesting design These plug may just get me away from the Bosch Platniums I have use for the last 20 years.

I also ran across these plugs, "Beru", this is the plug BMW, Porsche, Mercedes Benz, and many others. install on their new cars.

Found out another interesting thing. This thread got me to wondering what kind of spark plugs Formula 1 racing engines use. I was suprised to find the vast majority of the F1 teams use a special Plug made by Champion Sparkplugs.

Incidently I alway include a link whenever I mention a particular part or whatever. This is a habit I
picked up a long time ago.
