Default 5.4 gutless

So this is my 1st Ford. Its an 05 F150 Lariat 4x4 with the 5.4 with 146,000 miles. It has a cold air (K&N FIPK) everything else is stock. This truck has no power anywhere. Is these trucks that de-tuned or what? Let me know what you know. I don't want to spend $$$ on it at a shop to get it looked at. Thanks fellas.

Ok. It does have a leveling kit and a little bigger tires but I didn't think that would change it that much. Would it throw a code if it needed a tune up?

Start with basics. New plugs clean fuel filter and air filter. Also you will want to check your cats with a infrared heat gun they ought to be around the same temp if one is hotter by more than 20 to 30 degrees Fahrenheit then it's plugged which can kill power. I had a drivers side one crap out on me last week.

Running the cold air kit without a proper tune would cause you to go lean.
Lean= no power.
The tune is need because the MAF is relocated.

Do you know what the stock gearing is? Go to etis.ford.com, click on "Vehicle" at the top left, and enter your VIN. It will tell you every option your vehicle left the factory with.

Your problem is most likely the larger tires and you are still on factory gears, especially if it was equipped with 3.55s. Larger tires effectively change the gear ratio and have a profound effect on felt torque.

Did you not test drive it before you bought it?
