Default 5.4 FFV Question

Just bought a 2007 F-150 XLT, 5.4 V8, with 16,000 miles. Much to my suprise, after getting it home, found out it has the Flex Fuel motor. None of the dealer info listed it as the FFV. I only intend to use gas, don't even think you can get ethanol around here. My question is,is the Flex motor any different when running straight gas. Will I need to specify this every time I buy parts or get service? Is performance different between the two (Flex, gas)? Thanks for your input.

Bought my 07 new (FFV) I ran the corn because it was cheaper, about $10-$12 per fill up but I got less gas mileage. My manual states you can run E85 all the time but you need to fill up with regular in 3000 mile increments. The performance is the same. Oh, the exhaust stinks (smells alil different) when I run the E85. Whether I use E85 or regular it all evens out in the end. They are about the same. I drive around 25 miles to work, or 50 miles round trip. When I first got it I was obsessed with trying to find an E85 station. They ARE hard to come by.
I probably wouldn't have ordered the engine on my truck, (nor Sirious radio) and saved myself about a grand but I got a great deal on an 07 leftover in November. Post some pixs.

If you go to a dealership and they have e85 cars or trucks. Their suggested mpg is usually lower than the regular gas. for example (gas 14-18) and (e85 12-16). We have had ethanol blend around here for years but I never use it because my mpg drops almost 2-3 miles.

I know on my wifes Ranger if she ran regular fuel the valves rattled, until we got it tuned and backed the timing off a little bit.
