Default 5.4 coils

I was replacing my coil packs earlier this week. I only did 3 out of 8. They are hard to pull off the spark plug. When I put the new ones on I press down on the coil and I feel like they are not going on as far. Now here is my question. When I go to put the screw back in, I have to press the coil further in to be able to start putting the screw back in. Then when I tighten it, the screw is pushing the coil in further down on the spark plug. Is this the right way or do I need to push the coil in further by hand before I screw it in.

You should add some dielectric grease to each end on the new boot.. not the spring ...inside the boot ends to help seal out moisture and add installation. It sounds what your doing is correct, they should feel a little spring loaded.
