can anyone help me w a 5.4 to a 4.6 swap? 5.4 is crapping out, got a line on a 4.6 out of a 2008 GT w 3v

is the 08 v8 the same motor as 04's? There might be subtle differences? But enough to make the swap cost a bit more?

I thought the 5.4L was a better motor.

It's a more powerful motor. Not necessarily a "Better" motor. Both are great motors if taken care of. I'd say the longevity of both are about the same. If you plan on doing aftermarket things to the truck I'd recommend going with the 4.6 only because the engine is supported more aftermarket wise due to the older mustangs having the 4.6 in them.

The o8 4.6 is a 3v same as the 04 5.4,, Im aware that I am not going to use the intake from the 5.4 bcause it is a little wider also i believe ican use the trans and converter but will have to change the flex plate .not worried about exhaust because the cats and rest are junk .i have a cracked right exhaust manifold so i will use the 4.6 ones on the 08 motor
