Default 4x4 Use?

I have an 06 lariat crew 4x4 but I rarely use the 4 wheel drive. I've heard that in order to keep it from having any problems I should drive around with it on in 4 HI once every 6 months just to keep the gears oiled up. Is this true?

I've heard of that too. So I take mine into 4x4 every month at least. Not to mention I hate driving in snow, so it's quite often here that I'd be in 4x4 so I'd like to make sure it keeps working...lol.

yes it can. also wet pavement. in fact, if it aint dirt (loose, not compacted)/ice/few inches of snow/mud, dont put it in 4wd.

if u do do that on pavement, stay in a straight line, do NOT make a turn.
