Default 4X4 question?

hey guys i have a 2006 Ford F150 FX4 with the 5.4 engine. I notice today when i had the truck jacked up, that the front axles spin when i spin the front wheels. I thought when the truck was in two wheel drive the front axles were supposed to not move, or am i totally wrong?

I believe you are correct. I recently changed my IWE actuators, and to make sure all was working right, I jacked the truck up front and rear, and put it in drive. From there, change from 2Hi to 4Hi, and it should be working right. You may just have a problem with the solonoid on the firewall, and that is a cheap fix. Sounds like that, or a vacuum problem.

If the engine is not running the axles will turn with the wheels because you have no vacuum going to your IWE's.

Everything is good then. Your axles will turn with your wheels while the engine is off because there is no vacuum at the IWE's.
