04 FX4 screw, (switch on the dash) turn the switch and light comes on 4 high or low but 4x4 does not engage, checked all the fuses and relays, I'm hearing a lot of people saying vacuum issues and the solenoid in the switch itself? Anyone have any first hand insight into my problem? Prices, time, easy to fix yourself?

Not to be a smart @$$ but if this is your first time using it, check the manual how to engage it. There is a process. Again not to be a smart @$$ about it though.

 

this could be any number of things, my brother had this happen on his truck and I believe it ended up being his transfer case motor
