4x4 Help Please!
So the other day I was going to pull out of the driveway but the fiance's car behind me had a completed dead battery so I had to drive through the yard to get out(didn't have time to jump the car.) So there was about a foot of snow in front of my truck so I put it in 4Low to get out and back onto the road. When I was going through the snow I had no problem and got out onto the road, I was going to go down the the stop sign and put the truck back into 2wd. But about 100 yards from my house the truck started to make this loud grinding/whining sound. So I stopped in the road and put the truck in 2wd and the noise stopped and a service light came onto the dash. When I got to where I was going I got out and I could smell some burnt metal. Not sure what any of this means but any help would be beyond appreciated. Thanks for all your help.
^ what he said would be my guess as well.
I was taught never to use 4-lo on a normal street, I actually make an effort to never have to use 4-hi on a street either, only when im offically "offroad" do i ever consider using 4 wheel drive.
just food for thought.
