So today I put my truck in 4wd hi 2005 xlt it engages just fine but the light came on for a split second and then went out upon start up the 4x4 hi and low illuminates so the bulb is fine Engaged 4wd low and the light comes on like normal but the hi doesn't illuminate at all now. Any ideas?

Mine has done this as well be nice to find an answer. I just thought it was a sensor or switch not making proper limits.

Mine just did this a couple weeks ago.. replaced the IWE solenoid under passenger side hood. Make sure you get one with the shield to protect from water. I got mine at auto zone it is made by Dorman part number 600-400. It says 4wd & Evaporative Emissions solenoid on the box. Fixed problem instantly and its only a 25 dollar part and super easy to install.

The iwe solenoid was indeed the problem. Had an Oem part where I work so I put it on just to see and it worked. Even though I had replaced that solenoid a couple years back with the updated part it still messed up.
