Default 4wd problems

hey guys and girls
well after getting my brakes figured out on my truck i washed underneath it with the garden hose and a sprayer end washed the whole truck and then went to go move it i this is when i normally put it in 4wd to conform it working well i can hear the electric motor on the transfer case working but the 4x4 hi light on the dash comes and off for a second then off and i
think the front is locking and unlocking.I'm pretty mad about this as this is the first time iv had it in the bush due to hunting session and i already had a issue with rear brakes.
What could be gone in the 4x4hi cause 4x4low is fine?
it goes in next wed to the dealer but if it soming i can fix myself i rather go that way cause $86.00 an hour sucks.

thanks for any help

Try testing the vacuum pump taking off the lines and putting your finger over the in and out, and have a buddy turn the key on. The pump is mounted behind the battery on the firewall. They are about $25 bucks through the right dealer. I had a dealer here by detroit sell me one for $75. The part also comes with a new bracket that has a hood to keep water out. If thats not it mine was doing this before i replaced the 4x4 actuator.

Go to the back of the transfer case and tap on the electric motor with a brass hammer or lightly tap with a regular hammer. There are two stages in that motor and if it goes into both hi and low after that it's the 4x4 actuator. They run about 375 from the auto parts store and 450 from ford. If you have the 6 year 60,000 mile powertrain warranty. Ford will pay for everything. But try tapping on it first. Looks like a starter. There also might be moisture in the connection on the back of that motor on the transfer case. Unplug it and spray it down with WD-40 which is a water dispersant Let me know how it works out.
