4wd Not Working
This weekend a friend of mine called me to come and pull him out. I went up and found him, and when I got there I locked into 4wd LOW, and when I put the truck (05 F150 XLT) back into gear I could feel the transfer case engage, but when I hit the gas, and I got the truck up around 2000 RPM only the back wheels spun. I got onto asphault later that day, and put in 4 LOW again just to see what happened, and again I felt the tranfer case engage I brought the truck up to about 30 MPH, and let off and I could hear the transfer case whine. So I know the tranfer case is working, but I'm not sure why it's not tranfering torque to the front wheel. Any help would be great.
Thanks,

You should NEVER use 4 low on dry pavement.
What are your 4X4 lights doing when you try to shift the transfer case, (stay on, blink, go off) do you have a manual shift for the transfer case or the ****?

nashtruck, I don't think it's going to hurt if I'm driving in a straight line for a hundred or so feet at low speed. As for the light it stays on just like normal, and 4 hi didn't work either, hence trying 4 low. The truck has electronic hubs.

have you played around with putting the truck in nuetral/park and shifting the 4by in and out to see if that makes a difference...i had a dodge that had shift on the fly that never "shifted on the fly" lol i know its dodge but i had to put truck in nuetral and engage the 4by the put into drive...

i had my superduty do the same thing a few times. try going into 4hi first and back up a little ways or atleast let the tranny spin backwards if you cant go anywhere. and then go to 4 lo
