hi guys! i'm new in this site! i've a problem with my f150 2004 4.6, the 4wd low doesn't work, also if i push the breake and the gear in neutral, when i put in low the led of the Hi doesn't swich of, someone could help me??

does 4wd Hi work? how have you checked it is working. easiest is to put in 4wd and try to turn, if you reel resistance then its working, if not and you can turn the wheel full turn (left or right) then your 4wd isnt working at all. do this on gravel or dirt, can break stuff on pavement if your not careful.

put in 4hi, then when you put it in nuetral with foot on brake, switch to 4low, then realease brake and it should pop into 4low.

 

read the manual. for some reason switching into 4 low is a little different than 4 hi. and getting out of 4 lo is a little different too. again, read the manual.

 

Ive previously had problems with 4 lo too. But nothing was wrong. I believe you have to put it in neutral, engage parking break and then shift it.. It might need to be in park I'm not exactly sure

 

i know all of this things, but nothing is working in low, and the 4wd hi are ok!
the really strange thing is that the led of low is always swiched of, just when i tourn on the car you can see it, but when you put in low nothing, really nothing change from hi..

 

I had the same issue about 6 months ago.. Went to go use the 4H and 4L.. Thought the high was working but it wasn't.. Took it to ford and my solenoid was not plug in. The 4H light came on indicating I was in high put it wasn't.. The 4L light never came on... Plugged it in and now no issues...
