Default 4R75E vs 4R75W

Looking for a transmission filter kit for my 08 KR. I called my local dealer with my VIN and he told me I have the 4R75E. The kits I'm seeing on Rockauto say they are for the W. What is the difference?

Thanks!!

They're the same as far as the filter is concerned. The designation changed when the drive by wire upgrades occurred. In fact, they're practically identical save for the speed sensor.

Here's what you want. Don't use the included gasket; reuse the factory one.

Amazon.com: Wix 58955 Automatic Transmission Filter Kit: Automotive Amazon.com: Wix 58955 Automatic Transmission Filter Kit: Automotive

And while you're at it.....

Is there a reason to change the pan? Do they have warping issues?

Some like having a trans pan with a drain plug. Less mess if you're big DIY driveway guy. Some have installed them on their OEM pans also. It's an optional upgrade.

Officially, Ford designates all 4R75 transmissions with E at the end. however, most aftermarket suppliers often refer to the transmission as a 4R75W.

Its the same transmission regardless of what designation is used at the end (W or E)

One has 2 sensors on the driver side of transmission and the other has only 1

This is incorrect. They are the same transmission. They both have two sensors on the driver's side.
I have my 4r75e from my 2004 f150 sitting right next to the 4r75w I pulled from a 2007 E350 at the scrapyard Saturday.
I will post my pics if anyone responds to my post.
This ha been a fuggin headache and a half to figure out 4r75e vs 4r75w
most people are talk out of their asses.
Im installing the 4r75w into my f150 tomorrow. Tha majority of bs I've read everywhere says they aren't compatible cuz of a electronic shift feature? 2004 and 2007 Fords are all electronic shift?
I'm willing to be that the guy who said there is difference but that aftermarket manufacturers started using an E or W is correct. I'm also willing to bet that the black logic board looking connector for the speed solenoid is the I only difference. My 4r75e has it, but the 4r75w just has bare wires running under the valve body. I bet thas the only difference. And I bet those part are interchangeable.
Pics and documents to follow .
No need to thank me .
