Default 4R75 Guidance Needed

4R75e according to Jasper. Can anyone point to a decent list or write up of the known issues with these, and if possible some options for repair?

Ex. 4 plate intern clutch/6 plate direct. Easy and concise answer.

Many of the articles I find point to a few shared issues, but not all. I'm on trans 3 now, so I'm gonna open it and rebuild it. Unfortunately, it's not like you can order a kit with every quality or performance upgrade in it, well you can but it comes inside a transmission. I think I'm gonna do the timing chains now too.

what use/abuse has your truck seen? Where 2nd and 3rd trannys new, rebuilt, or junk yard swaps?

i have 250k on my orig Trans (08) and it shifts and drives like new. With this perspective it seems like there must be more to the story that simply 3 transmissions failed for no reason within 60k miles.

If you want to do it yourself check out the "transmission bench". They have a very thorough series on YouTube that shows all the ins and outs of teardown and reassembly.

They go over the Sonnax sure cure kit which addresses most of the common issues during the reassembly portion.

They also sell the kits and parts and if you get the rebuild kits from them they include the videos on a USB stick so you can watch and review as you go along.

I think if my tranny gives up ever I will attempt it myself. They show you how to build tools for compressing springs so you can remove snap rings and get it safely apart.
