Default 4R70E help !

I have a 4R70E in my 2004 2wd. I can find any around me but I have found several 4R70W. Are they the same just different gearing ? Will the interchange ?

4R70E interchanges with 4R70E and 4R75E.
4R70E will not interchange with 4R70W nor 4R75W They are dimensionally the same and they will fit but the 4R70W/4R75W will not function correctly.
Also while a trans from a 4X4 has the same designation as a 2x4 they are not interchangeable without complete disassembly to allow the extension shaft and extension housing to be swapped. The 4x4 version has an extension housing the 2x4 does not (or at least they are not the same length)

There maybe others but here is what I am aware of Door jam sticker

Is there any car transmissions that are the same ? What about any out of a 4.2 truck ?

I do not know for sure.
I suspect car transmissions will work but there are subtle differences.
My 2007 F150 4.6 L 4x4 truck extension housing is different than my 2008 Lincoln Town Car and the LTC has a spacer plate between the engine and the bell housing.
When you find out the answer, regarding car transmissions, please post the answer,
