Default 4 wheel drive hub grinding...

Last night we got 5 inches of snow in my area. Woke up heading to work and ended up getting stuck. Ive noticed that my front drivers side hub has been grinding when even i try to engage my 4 wheel drive. It will sometimes engage in reverse but spins out and grinds in forward. I was thinking about replacing the hub myself but not quite sure what part/parts i would need or how to do it myself. All and any advice would be very helpful. I have a 2006 f150 fx4.

I would start with replacing the iwe solenoid. 30 dollars or so and fixed mine that was grinding. If that doesn't work then you would look into the hubs.
