Default 4 inches

I was wondering if any one had pictures of their 4wd F1150s with a 4 inch lift, and preferably 35x12.50s. I am about to return home from a deployment, and am debating getting a 4 inch lift kit for my truck. Could y'all also post about how the truck drove after the lift install, especially if you installed the lift on your own, and what kind of problems you ran into (during and after install).

Thanks,

Cody Scherer

I have a rancho 4 inch lift and I love it! It rides like a caddilac and handles great. I installed it myself in 1 day and my truck is 4 wheel drive

That looks beautiful. I was just discouraged though. I decided to read some installation instructions to see what I would be up against, and in the caution, before the actual installation said that you cannot run the factory 17 inch wheels with the lift kit. Could some one verify if that is actually true? I cannot afford to buy wheels, and a lift, and I would much rather have the lift over wheels.

That's crap. I am running aftermarket 17" wheels with 5" BS, but the factory wheels will work with no trouble. That's one of the reasons people choose this kit to begin with.

I'm not sure on that. When I lifted my truck I had 18s that were very close to stock spec and it worked fine. I honestly don't see why it wouldn't work at least until you could afford wheels but I don't know any of the specs on that stuff lol

It says that it will require 4 1/2 inches of back spacing. If y'all say it will work I will take your word for it. Y'all said I can run 35x12.50s on the stock wheel, and that turned out just fine for me, so I have faith that I will be pointed in the right direction.

That is the link to the pdf file for the instructions, also I have never installed a lift before, but I am mechanically inclined, so those of you who have installed a lift could you tell me if this looks legit, like all of the parts that I will need for a proper lift, and what not (talking to you 05XLT).

That looks like everything. Are you 4wd? I'm guessing it's a spacer lift. If your truck is 2wd it shouldn't be very difficult. It's also a lot easier if you have the right tools. I'm lucky enough to have my own shop and tools so that helped a lot but it still took about 10 hours total
