Its on the tag of the rear end. If you are lucky your new rear will have 3:73. But if you are going to regear go at least 4.11 or step up to the 4:56. She will really come alive.

I bought my 4.6 for pure reliability. The 5.4 is just pickier with maintenance but i bought used

If i bought new vct wouldnt scare me. Because i would know i took care of it.

But I see where you're coming from, the 4.6 does seem like a more reliable motor.
I agree. I'll put myself into further debt just to get exactly what I want. And I want a fully loaded truck with the best driveline and powertrain combo you can get. It's like buying a Ram 1500 with a 3.7 V6 rather than going all the way and having a Hemi.

Anyways, driving her truck it definitely has a little more low end torque. But the reliability comparing the two engines is no contest. She has had the rattling issues in the timing chain, and 3 spark plugs broke off in the change. I'm happy with my decision to have a 4.6.
Was she hot?
