If your truck is a 4x4 don't go anymore than a 2.5" level. A 3" will reek havoc on your CV's.

You can probably run 35's on stock wheels no problem with a 2.5" level, maybe some rubbing. My advice stick with 33's, less rubbing issues and less power loss. You also have to be careful with aftermarket wheels with different offset/backspacing, they will change how the tires sit and may also lead to rubbing, even with 33's.

Your front end might sit a little higher than the back with a 2.5" level, maybe look into a 1.5" add-a-leaf, but install the level first and measure before you just throw and add-a-leaf on.

Hope that answers all your questions

This is my old '04 with 295x70x17 Toyo MT's on 17x9 wheels with a 2 1/2" leveling kit on a 4x4 Lariat. No rubbing and great size tire.

I have the 2.5" with 33s and 17x9 wheels with 5" (I think) backspacing and -12mm offset. Nice wide stance, no rubbing issues and mad the truck look a lot more aggressive. I'd say no to 35s unless you want to regear.

I'm new to the F150 world and also to the F150 Forum. I just bought a new to me 08 Ford F150 FX4 and I'm interested in the Rough Country 2.5 Level kit. I don't want to cause any premature wear to my front CV's and just wanted to make sure that I'll be okay with the 2.5 inch leveling kit.

If anyone has any experience with the Rough Country 2.5 kit I'd love to hear how it worked out for ya.

Thanks,

Tad

Sorry, don't have pics right now but will try to get some tomorrow. Have to remember every wheel is different because of the offsets. The offset will change the position of the tires turning angle so whatever rubbed on my truck may not rub on other trucks with 35's. I have a 6" offset so my tires hit my trim at 3/4 turn and fender well at full lock. I had to cut out a piece of my fender trim at the corner. Now because i didnt want my tires to rub the fender well i also cut a bit of the pinch seam behind it and pushed the cover of the fender well back. If you decide to put 35's you might have to see where your tires rub before you start cutting.

Just got my leveling kit in the mail today so hopefully it's on by the end of next week.
