Default 300whp

I am curious how hard it would be to make 300WHP with the 5.4 all motor.

Has it been done?

Is it possible with out a power adder or built motor?

Is it possible with just bolt ons and a tune?

We talking rear wheel hp or flywheel?

Flywheel, I'd say yes with bolt on's and a wicked good tune.

rwhp, dunno, that's a big *** transmission to go thru....

Spend enough money though on any engine and you can do it. lol

At the flywheel, the 5.4L in the 2004-2008 trucks made 300hp/365tq so I'd guess 300 flywheel hp is very possible.

Now... wheel horsepower is gonna get expensive. SinCity FX4 has a good writeup of the common mods to wake these trucks up wich included a tuner, exhaust and intake. He netted a max of about 240.8whp IIRC and documented the true dyno measured hp gains from each mod.

Those trucks bone stock only manage to put about 200-208 to the ground with the 5.4L. For a 300whp truck, you need to go with forced induction.

Maybe you can help me understand WHY someone would need that much power? its a truck, if you want to go fast get a sports car. If you are trying to push big tires around, switching gears, and a few bolt on can cover anything you are trying to put down. I just fear that someone is going to be driving 120+ in a massive truck, that is like pulling the pin on 10 grenades and just praying they wont explode. just IMHO.

Why would you jump to the conclusion that its for speed?

Think about how well the F150 tows with only putting 200ish hp to the ground. Now imagine what it could do with another 100 that its almost SUPPOSED to have when looking at its competition.

what do you think the 6.2 gas it putting to the ground? (found in the 2011 super duty with 400+ hp ad 400+ tq.)

I am not sure of trans loss but that has to approach 300 RWHP?
