i have a 3" pro comp level, honestly i sit exactly the same as many 2.5s i've seen. right at 10k miles and my ball joints are holding up just fine. the extra .5" doesnt make as huge of a difference as some people will tell you, and you won't get the "cali lean" if you have the stock rear blocks.

This is also considering some leveling kits and lift kits don't give you the exact lift they claim.

The Rough Country 6" lift for example is really only about 5 over stock from what a lot of talk here says.

I've seen a lot of people put leveling kits on for 2,5 and 2 and not get what they claimed too.

If you're 3 inch lift sits dead center level then either my 2.5 is bigger than it says or your 3 inch isn't quite 3 inches because I've measured floor to fender front and back and am within a tenth of an inch.

Here is a picture:

Again, I'm not trying to knock anyones stuff. It's not uncommon for these kits to not be exactly what they are specified to be.

I do not like the way my ball joints sit at a 2.5 inch level. They aren't at too much tension but the reason I didn't even consider a 3 inch was from reading so many people say that a 3 inch level stressed too much. The ball joints didn't bother me as much as something in the steering was stressed to the max.

No way a 3" should sit level without an added 1" block in the rear....my 2.5" is also within a tenth of an inch.

Edit: maybe you have a shot suspension so a 3" brings it level....

Hey I finally saw this thread. Here to save the day! 3" rough country level 1" rear block and 2.2 shocks from rough country. 315/70/17 Mickey Thompson Baja MTZs. Been running the same setup since for 2 years and never have had any front end problems! And I've beat the chit outta my truck in the mud, mountains, jumping it. No problems at all.

Amick I don't know if you quoted the wrong person but I have a 2.5.

Raptorman I've only got 2.5 inch block bolted to the top of the shock. Nothing in the back. Its Rough Country.

Sorry long day lol. I was agreeing that our 2.5" is level with bolt on up front only, no way his 3" is unless he added a rear block as well like Bshipe. Lol

Good to hear. I've only ever read that it could cause problems so I guess there isn't anything to that after all.

i highly doubt my suspension is shot, pretty sure i'd known by now. i never got around to doing measurements before so i don't know exactly how much it lifted it, but i know i'm sitting perfectly level now, and that's with the stock 2" block in the rear, never messed with it.

i agree with search though that measurements may not be exact. my spacer is a pro comp so it may be slightly different than a rough country, hbs, etc...
