2011 Wheels on 2005 XLT?
Hi All,
I'm pretty new to this forum, or at least I haven't posted much. Though I read the threads often and learn a lot.
This may have been answered (but I don't think so). I have a 2005 Supercab XLT, original 17 wheels and Big O A/T tires on.
I'm at a juncture trying to decide whether to sell my truck or put some money into it and keep it for a while. I only have $35,000 miles on it, so that helps for either scenario. But recently I ran into a tire dealer who had (on consignment) some 2011 F150 18 wheels for $600. There are some like new Michelin tires that come included. So I have 3 questions:
1) Will the 2011 wheels fit both the bolt pattern and the wheel well of my 05 XLT?
2) Is there a way to inspect the structural integrity of the wheels? The guy says they are take offs and that the Owner only put 7,000 miles on them, but it still makes me nervous.
3) Anyone have an idea on how it will look? Dumb?

They will fit no problem, 04+ to present f150s are all 6x135 bolt pattern. I've never used take off rims before but it could be that the person put aftermarket rims on there truck and got the dealer to do the work.
