ive only had the edge evolution, but have had both the ‘plain’ edge and also the ‘gryphon’ version. Been happy with both.
My primary interest / use if for the gauge and code monitoring purposes (and for adjusting for tire size change, I put on newer f150 takeoffs).
The gauges really let you see what’s happening and allow you to identify issues before they can potentially become a big problem.
I haven’t modded my truck, don’t have “custom tunes”, and don’t ‘race’ my truck. But I do think it wakes engine up a little, shifts a little better.
There are other features that are cool too, like being able to set “alarms” (notifications) for various parameters and ability to set the threshold (ex: if tranny temps hits xxx degrees, etc).
Exact same truck as mine, but, it's an '07. I've almost totally renovated mine, both mechanically and aesthetically. Maybe something I've done will help you figure out your mission with your truck.
I'm pretty much finished. I've got new bumpers (but still need to install them), need to repair a small scratch I put in the rear passenger door, and eventually rebuild the transmission. Amazingly the tranny is still functioning 100% at 300k miles and 14 years.
Besides the obvious external changes, I've replaced the engine, suspension, AC system, charging system, brought the leather back to life, changed the interior scheme from light to dark, electric locking tailgate, DeeZee, etc etc. I like projects and have done the vast majority of the work myself.
My original intention was to buy another truck. However, I decided against it. I didn't want to risk buying somebody else's problem.
I've tried to renovate it into something I like, unrecognizable from original, and that functioned as close to a new truck as possible, within reason.
I have an EVO modified into a Gryphon and it's been great. I also installed a "Tesla" style head unit in it and it's been flawless for 10 months. Suspension is generic and nothing special. The engine is a 5.4 AER produced reman....perfect for 20k+ now.

Wow! I like it! Definitely gives me some ideas! I see that Arkansas license plate hiding back there! 😏 Where are you located? Do you have pictures of the interior?

Thanks! I’ll have to look into one. Does that have the mount that goes by the A-pillar or is it handheld?
