Default 2008 F150 brake switch

Brake lights were not working on my 08 F150...none of them...R, L, high center. Took switch out and jumped the harness and lights went on, so I assume it is the brake switch. It's working now and I'll replace the switch because one of the contacts appears burned.

What is the blue/white plunger switch that is located above the main brake switch? It appears normally closed and it opens when the brake pedal travels a certain distance

I'm not 100%, but it may have something to do with the cruise control, if that isn't tied into the brake light switch itself.

I think acdiecast hit it... what's the colors of the wires? I show a "Cruise Deactivator Switch" as BK-YE and LB-PK for the two wire colors. I'll admit, even during remote start install I've never really paid attention to that , I've always used the main brake switch wires.

Yea, I assumed it is the cruise control switch too but I was hoping to verify. Still...it wouldn't take much to run the CC off the main brake light switch, which is a much more robust switch

Thanks

Yeah seems odd too. The only thing I can think of is a fail safe? Although in that case they might as well use both switches for the added safety for both cc and lights lol.
