The two that suggested the Walker...did you replace the passenger side on your truck? From what I'm seeing it comes with the pipe that goes over to catch the other side as well as pipe down the back. On my truck I have a clamp before the muffler, and on the cross pipe. Did everything line up and fit for you? Once them clamps are removed does it simply pull apart?

On a side note, after looking closer it does appear to be easier to do it this way vs. cut n weld...I thought the bolts were a lot further up there at first. Also they look like they are in great condition and should come off easy.

Thanks guys.

I used waker cats for a 2000 montero sport and a 2003 pathfinder. both fixed the P0420 and 421 codes and easily bolted up

Got a clogged cat, luckily it's on the passenger side. Anyone ever change one of these out with a universal? Can a new one be clamped and epoxied in rather than welded? Getting some major performance issues, especially when it heats up. Ordered a Magnaflow universal from Amazon, but sent me the wrong one (didn't have O2 sensor port). Returned it for refund, not replaced. Is it a good cat? Should I have just replaced it? I believe it's just a standard one $95 IIRC. Was looking at a Walker? (if that's the brand) Looked almost identical to the one on my truck. $10 cheaper. Except it looks like raw metal and probably rusts easily.

Here's my plan. Cut out old cat, rent that pipe tool to expand pipe ends to fit new cat inside, epoxy around seam, then clamp, or clamp down first then epoxy. Sound right? Should I be expanding pipes on the truck, or on each end of the new cat? Or do I want to expand the front of the cat, then expand truck pipe on the backside? Does it even matter?

Oh, also if I do decide to tackle this myself, I seen and read a lot of people cutting it out with a sawsall. I don't have one, but I have an air powered grinder I could put a cutting wheel on. Thoughts on that?

Thanks.
Take a look at our Flowmaster Direct-fit Catalytic Converter for Federal Emissions Standards (49 state legal) - Part #2020007. This replacement catalytic converter will bolt onto the passenger side manifold flange and have the ability to clamp on to the driver's side catalytic converter assembly but you will most likely have to flare the connection to the factory exhaust. It is highly recommended to weld this item on, however, you can make a few relief cuts in the area that you flared earlier and use a quality exhaust clamp for the connection. This system is full stainless steel and the best thing is we currently have this system on sale. I have included a link below to the replacement, if you have additional questions please PM me or call us at 707-544-4761.
