2007 Remote starter problems
Hi all, new to the site and was looking over several of the remote starter topics, but none are like what mine is doing.
We have a 2007 F150 4x4 Supercrew and it has been a great truck, we had installed by Ford a remote starter in Dec of 2008, worked like dream until middle of this summer when sometime it wouls start and sometimes it would not start. Then it total stop starting and have tried both remote starter remotes. What it does when you push and hold the remote start button for two or three seconds, lights come on, doors lock and you get one beep, but the starter does not engauge. Have tried it several times and it is the same every time, hold the start button for 3 to 5 seconds, you hear a beep, lights on and doors lock, but it will not engauge the starter. Since Ford installed the system I was going to take it back to them, they told me 4-6 hrs. and the fella that installed it was not talking, I understand that these trucks with the safety key has to have a rely that bypasses that or I have been tod there is a small black box that has a key in it so the system can read it. Any help is nuch appreciated.

Thank you all for the current and past forums that helped indentify our problem. It was the PATS (passive anti-thift system), replaced the small black box under the dash for 40.00 and all is well
