Default 2007 Front Seats

I am new here to this site and this generation (04-08) of F150 trucks. I have an 07 F150 XLT 4X4 that I have been driving less than a week. It is a super clean 1 owner truck with below average miles. It is pretty well trimmed out for my needs and comfort, and I am very happy with it except for one issue, and that is the front seat. My truck has the non-power 40-20-40 front seat in it and it sits way too low for me. I feel like I am sitting right on the floor. My last two trucks had a 6 way power seat on the driver side and it made for a more comfortable ride for me by being able to adjust the seat height. I am 6 foot tall and have tried several different adjustments but so far nothing I am comfortable with. I am thinking of making up some spacers and raising the seat up a bit ,and that should take care of it, but was wondering if anyone here had faced the same issue and if so , what you did to correct it.

You can always swap it out for a power seat. Thats my plan.

Are all the power connectors/wires run through the trucks, even if power seats weren't installed? Is it simply a "plug-and-play" type of swap? Or do you have to run all the wiring as well?

I have heard both. Normally the power seats are plug and play but heated are not. Either way it just needs a power wire. All the controls are on the seat. Plus you can always go leather.

If I knew for sure that the existing wiring harness already had the section in the loom for a power seat option I would definitely look into finding a power seat. Maybe there is someone else here that knows for sure and will chime in. Thanks

You could always take a look under there too. Might just be 1 single extra plug.

I doubt that the wiring would already be in place under your seat in your set up. However it should not be too hare to get a power seat in your truck. You can go with a set from an xlt that has powered driver and manual pass or you can go with seats from a truck that had power in both seats. Either way the wiring isnt too complicated to get the power functions to work. You will just need to run an always hot wire with a 30 amp fuse from the fuse panel or the pos on the battery.

I just put this write up together on swapping in Lariat seats in an XLT:
