Default 2007 F150 Windshield Moulding

Hi guys,

Both the left and right windshield mouldings are loose on the roof of the cab on my 2007 F150 crew cab. Here's the link to the part number in case you don't know what I'm referring to:

http://www.fordparts.com/Commerce/Pa...rd&model=F-150

I thought about just buying new ones, but they are $150 each!

Has anyone else had this problem? I'm thinking of just pulling up the moulding from the roof, cleaning the channel, and putting it back down with some double sided moulding tape. Would this work?

Thanks!

That should work fine, use 3M double sided tape

If you're pulling them off you'll probably break the windshield clips too, they are little cheap clips with ears that's go in behind that channel. I bought a pack from China of like 15 for a couple bucks on eBay. Just something to consider too

The clips will fix the problem, unless you have to get your WS replaced, then they'll all break.

Here's what the clips look like, but as the original post said his is loose over the cab not the windshield. I never looked to see how it attaches beyond the windshield

After the windshield clips it's on a large rubber piece that acts like a track to hold it in place. It shouldn't be rattling around/loose up top unless it's not on the track.

Thanks for the advice. I felt around under the moulding and it felt like there was some sort of foam double sided tape under there... I assumed that was how it was attached to the cab roof. I bought the truck with some some minor wreck damage a couple of years ago and the body shop installed new mouldings. Did they improperly install them by using double sided tape rather than hooking it into the track you're referring to?

Thanks!

If you don't have the piece that acts like a railroad track for the moulding to attach to, it sounds like they didn't install it properly when they repaired it.
