Default 2007 F150 A/C is not getting cold

I have a 2007 F150 5.4 flex fuel with 170k miles.

The A/C cools, but does not get cold. It started this spring. I took it to a shop and they said it was low on Freon and got to spec. It worked for a while, but now is not getting cold again.

At idle, the suction side is 25psi and when the compressor kicks in it goes to 55psi. The compressor doesn't stay on long. It cycles off pretty quick. Maybe a second or two and doesn't cycle back on for 30-40 seconds.

Any ideas?

Thanks
David

Perhaps you're leaking the refrigerant somewhere

The shop couldn't find a leak even though they said it was low. The pressures are still in the proper range. It takes forever to get cool, but never gets cold.

I have the exact same issue. Have shop install refrigerant with dye and look for a leak. The valves can leak at the ports. Make sure orifice tube is replaced. Vacuum test the system after they recover the refrigerant. I still cant get mine cool tho. Do you have a clutch fan or electric fans? compressor turning on?

I took it to a shop Friday. They used die and found that the high pressure line was leaking very slowly. Replaced it and charged the system. All is cool now.
