Default 2007 F150 4.2L V6 EGR Monitor Bank 2 FAIL test

Hi,

I'm getting on my ODB reader a MID $32 TID: $82 EGR Monitor Bank 2

Min -32.768kPa Max: -32.659kPa
Current: 0.351kPa

==

Truck is running rough, an under power. gas mileage is bad. All other test results are OK. This is the only result on the test im getting a FAIL on.

I had replaced all O2 sensors, both catalytic converters, spark plugs, spark cables and coil.

My question is if this means I need to replace the EGR Valve?.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks for your reply.

I have no fault codes showing on the system. No check engine or anything on the car dash cluster.

All I'm getting is the EGR FAIL I mention if a run a Test Scan.

Basically, I decide to the car with my OBD because it was running rough and MPG had gone down.

it doesn't sound like anything is wrong with the EGR valve. sounds more like a bad oxygen sensor

The description of Monitor ID $32, TestID $82 is: Delta pressure for upstream hose test and threshold

Keep in mind, Mode 06 tests are instantaneous requests for readings RIGHT NOW. That must be 'tempered' with all other surrounding conditions. Only you know what was going on at that instant. (ie: KOEO puts a completely different cast on a vacuum reading).

Your 'Current:' reading is clearly out of the range of Minimum (-32.768 and Maximum -32.659), so I would be looking at the upstream hose of the EGR Valve. (Leak / Crack / disconnected ???)

Thanks for the reply, I will check the upstream hose and report back.

Sorry. My truck aint got one of them gizzmos. And I looked through the 4.6 Engine section of my factory service manual. But the 'busy' looking component location drawing is of little help.

Should be able to find the hose / tube from the Exhaust Manifold > (to some gadget with an electrical connection). Probably kinda behind the throttle body. I'd try to take all the hoses / tubes loose and clean 'em all out - before replacing the sensor or whole assembly.

Sorry I don't know more about it - but your Mode 6 report says the 'differential pressure' the PCM is measuring across that 'orifice' (in your drawing) is not within design operating limits.

That sounds like all the symptoms of a bad mass air flow sensor. But I'm not sure with those codes. Keep us posted.
