Default 2007 5.4 First Mods

I just bought my new 2007 5.4 XLT (I initially mistyped this as STX) Supercab and I'm wondering what you guys would focus on changing first to improve all-around performance. I'm of the impression that intake and a tonneau are good first choices. I'll probably get a side step so my dad can get in a little more comfortably, too.

I'm sure this thread has been rehashed a million times, but... well... looks like a million and one now!

ok you dont have a 5.4 STX, that was never made, unless a special order which i doubt, they all have a 4.6, so which is it a STX or the models above it......

We'll pretend I didn't type that. XLT! I have an XLT! I know better, just... not paying attention, I guess.

Haha.

CAI, Exhaust and tuner will set you up nicely on performance.

I would get a Edge Evo tuner. They are a nice addition for fuel economy and performance.

Well, luckily for me I knew what engine I had and just mistyped the trim package, right?

Is the K&N intake the only real option or are there other good choices?

I don't have a preference since I haven't bought one before. No real experience with this. All I've done is rebuild a '76 Maverick, so this other stuff is pretty new to me.

Any recommendations or pros/cons to the different brands?
