2006 Ford F150 5.4 wants to stall at red lights and stop signs.
Bought the truck recently and already changed out the plugs, had to get a new passenger side head, new cam shaft on driver's side, new lifters, changed out the entire timing, cleaned my TB, MAF, changed out a driver's side Cat, and all O2 sensors, took the K&N off and put factory air filter back on...it runs great and sounds great, but now wants to stall at stop signs and red lights. All these repairs have been done in the last month.
I just ordered a new FPDM. Mine is definitely corroded. It will be here tomorrow. Would that be causing it?

If it runs, doubtful. You've already tossed a ton of money/parts at it, without success of the stalling issue. I'd get a proper diagnosis of it, and go from there.
Any codes stored?
Start at looking for any air intake leaks, or vacuum leaks.

Sounds like you've been doing things right but what brand of plugs were used and what brand of timing components were used? What all exactly was replaced with the timing components?

If the timing job was done right then those should have already been replaced. Also they need to be OEM parts. That's why and where I was going with my questions but if they are new and OEM then I doubt they need replaced unless there was heavy sludge. Should do some diagnosing a little before he just throws more parts at it.

The timing components were not OEM they were from Evergreen. The components that were replaced can bee seen here: . And yes both right and left VCT Solenoids have been replaced. When I had the plugs changed I had them use the motorcraft spark plugs. There are no codes being thrown either. I have gone through the TB relearn process a half a dozen times.

Is this the same OP? Different user name? $421 for a full timing job? Well unfortunately you get what you pay for. Very well could need the timing done again. Did you drop the pan when the timing was done? Were the chain guides broken?

The dihrig1 is my wife. I suspect she didn't have my details and created her own. And to answer the questions full timing cost was $421. I looked at and handled the parts and they looked to be as good of quality as the OEM's I took out. I am a firm believer that you do get what you pay for... I dropped the pan and pulled out the oil pick up to see if it was clogged thankfully it was not. The guides I replaced were all in tact nothing broken.

Take the throttle body and clean it with throttle body cleaner
can't hurt to do it . Have you checked torque on plugs 25-28 foot pounds . These trucks have problems with loose plugs-- you need to use torque wrench . Did you clean cop connectors ,did you use dielectric grease , did you clean carbon out of spark tip hole area .
Using off brand phasors/vcts is self defeating . Its a labor pain getting in there . They will fail 90% of the time . Wish it wasn't true but it is. Metal ratcheting tensioners solve a lot of problems on this engine .
Your FPMN can cause these problems so its good you are changing it .
Okay I just re read ops , he cleaned throttle body --sorry .

Was there any sludge in the valve/timing cover areas? Varnish? I'm just trying to work my way backwards so hopefully you don't have to re do the timing components. As redfish said and what I was getting to is unfortunately the aftermarket phasers and vct solenoids do not last or work as efficiently. I would quite jump in that far yet though. Try to eliminate the easier cheaper things first. Have you checked for any vacuum leaks?
