2006 F Lariat Daytime Running Lights Won't Turn OFF

No I'm in Texas. Well, it's the little dim orange part of the stock headlights, in the little circle area of the headlights. Definitely NOT the regular bright headlights. That's been explained to me as being called daytime running lights. Also... the lights shining on the license plate in the back, as well as the top part of the brake lights. Maybe... it's because it's a Lariat model that it's a bit different? Hard to say. I thought all 2004-2008s had the same DNA for the most part.

05 5.4l 3v s.crew lariat
There are two systems here on my 05 lariat super crew I do not have drl . My fuse box on drivers fender has a place fore drl but it is empty .
I do have auto lights which I can chose not to use on my light switch . It just stops you from manually turning lights on at dark and shutting them off when you exit truck . They come on all day whenever you start truck and turn off after you shutdown truck after a delay for you to get to your house door . I believe you can set the time delay but I haven't messed with it for years .
If you have a bad battery this system can get weird and stick on .
I tried going back to manual lights but the auto lights are so addictive not having to mess with the manual switch .

So it sounds like you use the auto headlights, and that's why the lights are on during the day while you are driving?
I have an 04 lariat but I don't regularly use the auto headlights so I don't know how they behave in the day.
Either way I don't think it's a light sensor problem, I think it's either the BCM behind the rear seat, or if there's a relay for the feature that keeps the lights on for 20 second after shut off gets stuck closed.
I found this pin on my BCM a couple years ago that was preventing the auto lights from coming in, but I have read other reports of lights staying in unless you unplug it. There is another active thread on this subforum just yesterday about this.

2004 F150 5.4 Lariat
With my 2004 Lariat the parking lights and license plate lights came on intermittently draining the battery overnight. Research and testing pinpointed the BCM as the cause. It's been sent it for repair.
The BCM seems to be a likely cause of any intermittent, automatic circuit operation.
Do you want a pinout of the BCM connectors for a 2004 F150?
