Default 2006 4.2 efan

I already search and could not find an answer, I'm currently trying to install a flex a lite fan and would like to know if anybody experienced with this fan can help me

I have the fan already mounted and tightened to brackets, however the ruber seals are not completely sealing ,there's a little gap where I can see thru.

My question is: should I worry about this , should the seal be flawless in order to work properly?

Can you post a pic of what you're talking about? It's too difficult to understand what you mean.

Bucko, first of all thanks, I can provide you with picture tomorrow in the morning, if I look from above while having an eye closed I could see the floor, if I get under the truck and look up in between fan gasket and radiator I see thru.

I believe this is mainly because the mounting bracket that atach to radiator is bolted only at the top while the bottom rest in a plastic clip wich does not forces the shroud forward evenly.

Don't get me wrong is pretty close to the radiator but not completly like I tought it should for a product that cost me 467 bucks!!

I purposely off set my fans like you describe so vibration doesn't cause the fan shroud to eat the aluminum. Been down that road once

here's a picture of the fan, the ruber seal that is around the shroud does not seat tight in some parts ,no matter what i try.

That's correct. Been that way over 2 years and no over heating. Even in the Vegas summer the truck is fine

Lucky13 is correct about this. The two surfaces should not make contact unless there is some form of chafing protection. Otherwise the two will rub and the aluminium radiator will lose that battle. A gap of an 1/8 to 3/16 of inch is acceptable and your fan will still pull plenty of air across the rad.

beautiful!!... Yeah the flex a lite has protection against chaffing by having this thick rubber seal, kinda like a door seal.

Again thanks guys and stay tuned for results I will wire them tomorrow!!
