Default 2005 rear end

Will a 2004 4wd rear end fit on a 2005 2wd f150?

Yes.

You may need a new driveshaft, depending on the rear end you swap in.

If you keep the same type of rear end (8.8 to 8.8, for instance) it's a direct bolt in. Just pay attention to the gear ratios.
