Default 2005 FX ABS warning light

What kind of tester is needed to check why my ABS light is on and that the ABS system doesn't operate? Do one of the car parts chains test that for free? Thanks in advance.

They will not read ABS codes for you... they use to,but told me due to liability issues they stopped. You can buy a code reader that will read ABS codes, It will be a higher end one. Is your Brake light on also ?

Torque Pro will read them. My ABS light is on (as well as the brake light) and currently have a code pointing to front left ABS wheel speed sensor.

I had the same issue with my '07. Shop wanted some ridiculous amount to replace the sensor. $30ish dollar part (IIRC) from Rock Auto and a 30 minute job to remove the wheel and caliper to access and replace the sensor.

No brake light is present other than the ABS light.

Most likely a wheel speed sensor.
